FREQUENTLY ANSWERED QUESTIONS:

  • Why Are You Giving This Away For Free?

  • We believe at Obsidian Wealth Management and DoWhatTheWealthyDo.com that everyone out there should have a Will & Testament to simplify the probate process. Now we are big advocates on proper asset protection where probate is avoided and your assets are protected from creditors and lawsuits, however a Will & Testament is a good start. We know that by providing something to a person or business owner who could benefit from it and doesn't have one, will begin to think about how they may need or would like Asset Protection now or in the future.

We give this away knowing that we are doing our part and helping people get the bare bones minimum done so that they have some control over what happens to their assets when they die. We expect nothing in return. Should they begin acquiring assets and look to implement Asset Protection, we could only  they come to us to help them accomplish that goal.

  • Do I still need a Will & Testament if I decide to do Asset Protection with OWM?

  • Yes, all of our new clients will get a Free Will & Testament, then once we do asset protection, we will utilize some of that Will & Testament to create what is called a "Spill Over Will & Testament" which will allow for anything forgotten that is not included in the Trusts, will automatically be deemed and granted to the trust(s). This also helps us with the setup of asset protection giving us an idea of the assets one has.

  • Why does 68% of Americans not have a Will & Testament?

  • Many Americans are simply lazy or they don't feel that this is important of enough of task to complete and therefore they never do it. By not doing this it can cause a major riff in peoples families. We have seen families of generations get torn apart due to a lack of organization within ones estate. Estate planning is crucial and must not be avoided. By having a Will & Testament, it will help on the bare minimum side of things keep your estate semi organized so that when it does go to probate, the courts have an exact idea of what your wishes are and will help execute your wishes at a cost of course.

  • This could cost you anywhere from $550-$750 depending on your marital status. Again we feel that everyone should have one for Free and if they can protect their assets by enrolling into an asset protection program even if its not through OWM, we want them to be protected by creditors and lawsuits because 96% of the worlds lawsuits are right here in our back yard of the good old United States of America.
